Allergy Patch Testing

Allergic Patch testing is a method to detect and confirm if a specific substance is responsible for your allergic rashes. This is the test done to find the offending allergen in those suffering from allergic “contact” dermatitis, nummular dermatitis, atopic dermatitis and airborne contact dermatitis. Soaps, perfumes, cosmetics, leather, rubber, pollen, footwear and hair dyes are a few amongst the many allergens that are tested for.

Stickers containing 52 small aluminium discs are pasted onto your back. Each disc contains an offending allergen. Between these 52 allergens, your dermatologist can test for allergy towards 5000-6000 commonly used items around your home, school or workplace. When it comes to allergic skin rashes, the only way to achieve permanent relief is to identify your allergen(s) and avoid further contact with it.
