Hansen's Disease

Formerly known as Leprosy, this disease is well under control in most parts of urban India. However, both in medical colleges as well as private practice, we still see a few newly diagnosed cases every year.

Hansen’s disease is completely curable, with minimal to no deformities or sequelae, if detected early and treated correctly. A skin biopsy and basic bed side tests can confirm the diagnosis.
